RUMOURS: Coutinho issues transfer to Barca request

Liverpool have rejected Philippe Coutinho’s transfer request as he seeks to push for a move to Barcelona.

The Brazil international directly communicated this desire to the Merseysiders via email on Friday.

The 25-year-old has officially made it clear he wants to force his way out of Anfield.
Phillipe Coutinho has issued Liverpool with an official transfer request following the owners’ statement that he is not for sale, according to Sky sources.

Liverpool have denied receiving any such request and on Friday morning, Fenway Sports Group released a statement saying “no offers will be considered” for Barcelona target Coutinho this summer, with Jurgen Klopp backing the owners’ sentiments.

Sky Sports News understands Liverpool have so far rejected two bids from Barcelona for the Brazil international, with the latest offer worth up to €120 million.

Barca saw two bids swiftly batted away for the 25-year-old, the last of which was tabled in midweek and totalled €100 million.

Both proposals were accompanied with the message that he was not on the market at any price, a stance repeated on several occasions by Jurgen Klopp...
