Atletico Madrid are prepared to pay Diego Costa’s weekly £150,000 Chelsea fines in order to thrash through a deal for the ostracised Spain international, says Spanish radio station Onda Cero, cited by the Daily Mail.
Costa is currently training alone in his hometown of Lagarto, Brazil, following Antonio Conte telling the striker he is no longer part of his plans.
According to a report from a local newspaper, La Liga club Deportivo La Coruña had offered themselves as a loan destination for Diego until the end of Atlético’s transfer ban in January. This would be a similar arrangement to what Atlético had made with Vitolo, who left Sevilla to join the Madrid club this summer and went on a six-month loan stint at Las Palmas.
